Sewing 101 - Beginner Sewing

One Day Class

Master the Fundamentals of Sewing

Discover the joy of sewing in this beginner-friendly workshop! Whether you're picking up a needle for the first time or returning after a break, this class will build your confidence with both machine and hand sewing.

You'll learn:

Machine essentials - from threading and bobbin winding to adjusting tension

Basic stitches - perfect your straight stitch and explore the versatility of zig-zag

Materials know-how - select the right needle and thread for your projects

Hands-on practice - guide fabric through your machine and experiment with different stitches

We'll wrap up with essential hand-sewing techniques, including the satisfying skill of attaching buttons properly.

Bring your own machine and manual.

Class is taught by Melinda Brown.

Supplies available at the shop.  Receive a 10% discount on supplies purchased during class. 

Basic recommended supplies:

Pins

Scissors or snips

Thread

Seam ripper

You may bring a lunch and or snacks.  We have sodas, bottled water and chips available for .50 cents.  Small refrigerator available for use.

Cancellation Policy

Thank you for signing up for a class at Sewcial Creatives.  To be respectful of our teachers the following cancellation policy will be strictly adhered to. 

In the event that you are unable to attend the class, you must cancel 7 days prior to class to receive a FULL refund or store credit.

If you cancel between 6 and 4 days prior to class date, there is a 50% forfeiture fee and you will receive store credit only for the difference.  

If you cancel 3 days or less prior to class, your fee is 100% forfeited.
