About Molly:

Hi, I'm Molly Dumbris, owner and designer (and all other things) of Cork and Thread. I live in central Indiana with my husband and three children. Most of my designing and sewing occurs when they are in school. Before having children and deciding to stay home with them, I was a chemist. I still think very analytically and designing patterns engages that side of my brain.

I began Cork and Thread in 2019. I started out sewing and selling ready- made bag and wallets. As my skills and confidence increased, I started writing my own patterns. In 2021, I released my first pattern, the Laurel Crossbody Wallet. I now have more than 20 patterns. Designing patterns has become the focus for my business as it combines both my creative and analytical sides.

Recently I released my first quilt pattern, Woven Triangles. Quilting is a skill I plan to continue to grow and incorporate into my bag making as well as pattern writing. I have found that I have a talent for quilt math!

I also truly love see my patterns come to life. If you have made one of my patterns, please share and tag me! And if you aren't on social media (because honestly, most the time I wish I wasn't), send me an email and photo.
